Core Values

Spiritual Disciplines. Bethel UCC values the teaching and practice of spiritual disciplines for the growth and formation of the Christian persona. “And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.” Acts 2:42

Sound Doctrine. Bethel UCC will uphold the Sound Doctrine of the Gospel; keeping with all its laws, commandments, teachings, messages, and moral conducts to which we are taught and guided by the Holy Spirit. “…for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.” 2 Peter 1:21

Worship. Bethel UCC worships God through contemporary and traditional musical expression. Through our singing and the use of instruments, we praise God with all our heart, mind, soul and strength. And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment.” Mark 12: 30

God’s Love. Bethel UCC expresses God’s love to its congregation, families and its community, through fellowship, involvement in missions, evangelism, and the service to others. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” John 3:16-17

Appreciation of our Latino Heritage. Bethel UCC values its Latino heritage and the opportunity to worship God in Spanish and English. We value celebrating God by using our cultural expressions with all who would join us. “After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands,” Revelation 7:9
